Florida native David Altman, known as Sailor Dave, spent 14 years as a merchant sailor and discovered his love for tattooing while sailing the Caribbean. He began tattooing on tugboats at sea. A father of six, he now co-owns Salty Fox Tattoo in Fernandina Beach, FL with his wife and runs a nonprofit fox sanctuary. Known for his versatility, he’s best recognized for realism and abstract Japanese art.
